Interior Design Associate in Science Degree (Associates)

The Interior Design Associate in Science Degree is designed to prepare the student for entry level work in the field of residential or commercial interior design. Career avenues include, but are not limited to, Space Planning, Lighting Specialties, Retail Showroom, Merchandising, Illustration, Remodeling, Materials and Products Specialist, Project Coordinator, and Kitchen & Bath Design. This degree requires a total of 53-57 units in the major in addition to other graduation requirements.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
🗸 Formulate comprehensive design solutions for advanced residential and commercial interior design projects.
🗸 Communicate design solutions verbally and graphically for the purpose of executing a project.
🗸 Produce a portfolio illustrating complex, detailed projects that demonstrate career-readiness in commercial design.
🗸 Develop the skills necessary to sit for the IDEX (Interior Design Examination) administered by the California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC) leading to the professional designation of Certified Interior Designer (CID) in the State of California.
